Apple Maps adds Michelin reviews to help you find fine food

Reviews from Michelin are being added to Apple Maps

An update to Apple Maps will help users find fine-dining restaurants, with the ability to search for Michelin-starred, Green Star, and Bib Gourmand restaurants.

Users of Apple Maps and other navigation tools often use the apps to find somewhere to eat. With an update to Apple Maps, it'll be easier to find some of the more upper-class establishments.

Starting from May 14, Apple Maps in the United States adds the ability to view rankings and suggestions from food experts. Restaurants that have earned the revered Michelin star, or are reviewed under Green Star or Bib Gorumand, will now have details about their rankings appearing on their Apple Maps listings.

Users will also be able to search for restaurants favored by the three sources, see additional information including descriptions and images from the experts, and book restaurant reservations via Michelin in the app. More insights will also follow from The Infatuation and Golf Digest in the future.

The new listings won't be limited to just restaurants, as Michelin Key hotels will also have additional information added to their listings. For some hotels, users can book directly from within Apple Maps.

Golfers will also be able to book tee times in Maps as well, through a future integration with Supreme Golf.

The update arrives after the announcement that Apple TV+ will soon have a food documentary on the subject. "Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars," executive-produced by Gordon Ramsay, will show high-level chefs around the world trying to score high ratings from Michelin Guide inspectors.

The expert additions to Apple Maps will initially be available in the United States, with other regions to follow.

You might get the restaurant rating, but Apple Maps will likely get you lost going there.   LOL.  Waze or Google Maps are still better than Apple Maps.

Honestly in recent years, I have used Apple Maps exclusively and only use Waze or Google Maps as a backup in Singapore for driving and public transport. And even in Japan when travelling, using public transport. I belleve in different cities, some apps would work better than others. Like in Korea, I use a specific Korean one for trains. I don't recommend anyone using just 1 and I believe even Android users would keep 2 and use one or another as backup when the main one fails or for verification.  The interface for Apple Maps is (I'm biased) and IMHO the most polished.
